Freelance job- A League Of Their Own- Day 2

The next few posts will be short but sweet.
I just want to tell everyone about my days on the set because I am so excited to be doing this job.

Yesterday was a very exciting day, lets just say some girls would be really jealous of who I met and what I saw!
I was in charge of the quick change room which was a great responsibility. I had to get all the outfits steamed and ready for the last event at the end of the night.

When it came to the last event I was extremely nervous because I had never really dressed anyone under pressure and under a time limit.
It made me laugh on set because the celebs had no urgency about getting ready and they had so many layers and accessories to put on.

I will let you know about the next few days. Wish me luck!

Freelance job- A League Of Their Own- Day 1

About a month ago I was looking on twitter and a stylist I follow had posted she was looking for an assistant to help out on the set of a tv show. I am always a bit apprehensive about sending my CV over and applying through twitter for internships and jobs because you never know if they are genuine or not...

On Sunday my phone rang with an unidentified number. I don't like answering my phone to numbers I don't know but good job it did!

Eve Collins the fashion stylist had contacted me, asking if I was still interested in the job and when could I start! She explained to me it was for the new series of A League Of Their Own, so exciting!  Through all my excitement I said tomorrow not knowing what the job actually entailed. I then got an email from her with all the information needed for the job.
SHOCK, the hours! 9am till 10pm! I didn't even know these kind of work hours existed. But the dates I had were really nice because I got a day in between to catch up on sleep!

It was my first day yesterday and like any new internship I go to, I am always so nervous with butterflies in my stomach!
I arrived and the team were very nice and welcoming. Every job is different and no day is the same even though its the same job title.

During the day I had to steam and iron all the clothes for the panel to wear, make sure the outfits in the quick change room were in order for the final game, make sure the quick change room was tidy so no one could fall over in all the madness! I had to take a trip into London to get a couple of  t-shirts for the show that evening. I had to take the overground, then tube and when I arrived the shop they didn't have the colour we needed. A wasted journey! And the train coming back was so crowded I couldn't even move, love Public transport!

In the evening I helped Eve dress the panel and the special guest celebrities. I cant spill the beans on the guests so you will just have to wait for the shows to be broadcasted. We had to do the returns and make sure the wardrobe area was tidy for next day shooting.

There are not many employers out there that look after their teams like Eve does! She has a lovely team and I really enjoyed my day!
I can't wait for the next 7 days of filming.

Freelance Shoot Day 2

It's was the last day of the Jane Norman shoot. Its so fun! I want to do this forever!

We had 26 outfits to get through today, CRAZY!
 But...
We managed it. Well I say we, the model was amazing!
She was so fast and they loved every shot of her so it became really easy for them to pick the right frame.

I watched and dressed the model for most of the day today as alto of the steaming was done yesterday, Which was a bonus!

Thank you Jane Norman for 2 brilliant days!

Freelance Shoot Day 1

Today was my first EVER paid job as a stylist assistant!
I have never really been a fan of Jane Norman but today their clothing line was actually stylist and there are so many pieces I want.
Going to have to keep my eye out for them in store and online.

A few days before the shoot I was asked to get a styling kit together and who knew you would need bulldog clips to hold clothes in the right place. What a nightmare it was trying to find the right clips. Good job my very handy mum works in an office and they have hundreds!

I had the typical jobs of a styling assistant.
Steam all the clothes and hang them on a rail. Line all the shoes up under the rail and lay the jewellery out on the table. Once, the shoot had started I would be handed the clothes and dress the model.

I really wanted to put some pictures up from the shoot today but was told no one can see the clothes so I have grey scaled them.

I really enjoyed myself today and its made me realise that this is the job I really want to do.
I know someday I will get there!

I can't wait to get going tomorrow!

A Weekend In Twickenham

When I first started Interning I didn't realise how much of my time it would actually take up (even though I love it and wouldn't change what I am doing!)

So for my last few days off I thought I would take a trip down to Twickenham to visit my boyfriend at uni and actually have myself a social life!

Going Out Outfit.

Although I love to dress up for my Internships and industry I loved how chilled and layed back uni life was.

Lazy night in watching clueless and snacks.

Night out in Twickenham.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

My lovely tutor got back in touch with me and wanted me to go into college to give a talk to year 2 students about Interning.
Scary!
At first I was a bit apprehensive to say yes because I thought what would I say? And you know what some students can be like...

After all my panicking it was absolutely fine and I ended up enjoying it. Going back into the fashion studio brought back lots of memories of my class and makes me not want to grow up!

I was looking through some old pictures from my college days and decided to make a collage of some work but also the shoots and trips we went on.

Always Love You Guys ♥
